Valentine’s Day is about love. As we know, queer love does not take just one form. It can be romantic, platonic, physical, or all of these at once.
At Natural Pursuits, we usually approach bodies through a body-neutral lens. We acknowledge that we have bodies, we accept them, and we focus on what they allow us to do. For this Valentine’s Day, we are veering into body positivity territory. This piece is an invitation to love the diversity of bodies. More specifically, it’s an opportunity to love the diversity of penises.
You likely don’t need much convincing. Most of you love the opportunity to look closely at the wide range of penises that exist, their shapes, sizes, coloration, circumcision status, how pubic hair is maintained, and the many other details that make each one distinct.
So in the spirit of Valentine’s Day and love in its many forms, we invite you to indulge your curiosity and love these Valentine’s-themed penis portraits.

How These Portraits Were Made
We created these portraits during our January Natural Pursuits gathering in Hell’s Kitchen, New York City. Like most of our events, it was more like a house party than a formal shoot. People mingled, talked, and got to know one another, with opportunities to participate in photography offered throughout the afternoon.
Participants who chose to take part walked over to photographer Nico Kiray, who stationed himself near a window that provided soft natural light for the portraits. That window faced a busy New York City street and created the irony of pulling someone aside for a private photo in the most publicly exposed spot in the apartment.
Next the Valentine’s conversation heart hair clips were applied in whatever way worked best for the models pubic hair situation. Nico photographed participants continuously throughout the gathering, capturing twenty-two penises in total.
