One of the most frequent feedback I receive running Natural Pursuits is that you all want more events in more places. Sadly, we don’t yet have the staff or budget to make that dream a reality. But we can DEFINITELY help you throw your own events.
From setting the right vibe to managing logistics, there’s a lot to consider. Over time, I’ve picked up some tips that can help you create a comfortable, fun, and non-sexual environment for everyone involved. Whether you’re planning a small get-together or a larger event, these pointers will set you on the right path.
7 Things to Keep in Mind for Your Event
1. Give ‘Em a Job!
Nudity can be vulnerable, so having early guests help with tasks like setting up or organizing activities can ease nerves. Also, when planning the event, consider basing it on watching a movie, playing games, or tackling a puzzle; keeping hands busy keeps minds at ease.
2. Size Doesn’t Matter
A great event can have 4 or 40 attendees. The key is intention. Start small with a game night or movie with a few friendsโit’s all about the vibe, not the numbers.
3. Keep It Non-Sexual
Set clear expectations about the event’s purpose right from the start. Gently remind guests if the vibe starts shifting in an unintended direction.
4. BYOB (Bring Your Own Bag)
Remind everyone to bring a bag for their clothes and belongings. Designate a specific area for theseโtrust me, the backpacks pile up quickly!
5. Respect Thy Neighbors
Keep neighbors in mind when planning your event. Consider their view and make sure your party stays private. Trashbags make great make-shift curtains.
6. Clear Times, Happy Guests
Be upfront about the start and end times of your event. It helps everyone plan and keeps the energy flowing smoothly.
7. Snap-Free Zone
Create a phone-free environment so guests don’t have to worry about unplanned photos. It’s all about creating a space where everyone feels comfortable.
Recruitment
Let’s be honestโrecruiting attendees can be the trickiest part of hosting a nudist event. But don’t worry; we’re working on resources to make this easier for you. In the meantime, here are some strategies that have worked for me:
- Private Invitations: Start by asking privately on Instagram through close friends’ chats to see who might be interested.
- Local Nudist Directory: We’re still working on our local Nudist directory. You can fill it out here.
